Hodsdon Kokeshi Dolls, from tree to finished doll.
We entered this path with wanting to work together, share in the Japanese heritage and share our story.
We believe that There is a need and always room for traditional folk art in today's modern times, it creates a more inspired , vibrant and engaged society.
For us there are so many efforts to sustain and support wood art and Kokeshi tradition and culture.
Our approach is simply to work with our hands and the raw materials to create a little Kokeshi personality with beautiful woods
Kokeshi are believed to bring prosperity, peace and a sense of safety to the houses that they occupy

Never will I tire, it seems, of choosing another heavenly Kokeshi doll crafted by Jacob and Lisa! Half of the excitement is opening their packages and meeting the dolls in person! Toshi was a figure met on line. In real life she is even more beautiful. Her coloring is a rich, warm yellow brown. Lisa painted a little bird on her costume that is very cute! Her eyes are bigger than othersβ and there is obviously much creative thinking that precedes her creation.
