We entered this path with wanting to work together, share in the Japanese heritage and share our story.
We believe that There is a need and always room for traditional folk art in today's modern times, it creates a more inspired , vibrant and engaged society.
For us there are so many efforts to sustain and support wood art and Kokeshi tradition and culture.
Our approach is simply to work with our hands and the raw materials to create a little Kokeshi personality with beautiful woods

Kokeshi are believed to bring prosperity, peace and a sense of safety to the houses that they occupy

โ€œThe Artist,โ€ offered by the Naomi Gallery is a gem! Fashioned and adorned by Lisa andJacob Hodsdon, this very special piece of cherished art is now in my extensive collection of Kokeshi dolls! It is proudly displayed with two other pieces by the Hodsdons and birds by Keith Holt (one, a collaboration with Jacob and Lisa.). The Artistโ€™s beautiful paint pallet and holster of walnut carved paintbrushes make for extremely special adornments! The body is Manzanita burl and stunningly beautiful all on its own. Just WOW!
