This kokeshi is HUGE!
Wood- maple hat, ash body, and sycamore head.
His full title is “Ain’t no bugs on me”
This is our tribute to the ash tree. Which is quickly disappearing from the ash borer beetle
The head is turned hollow to insure the woods stability.

We entered this path with wanting to work together, share in the Japanese heritage and share our story.
We believe that There is a need and always room for traditional folk art in today's modern times, it creates a more inspired , vibrant and engaged society.
For us there are so many efforts to sustain and support wood art and Kokeshi tradition and culture.
Our approach is simply to work with our hands and the raw materials to create a little Kokeshi personality with beautiful woods
Kokeshi are believed to bring prosperity, peace and a sense of safety to the houses that they occupy
